Frozen spot prawn tails may not be as perky and lively as the live spot prawns but they are frozen in sea water right after they were caught so once you defrost them to enjoy throughout the year, they will taste just as decadent.

Spot prawns are almost a cross between a lobster and a Dungeness crab, known to have a sweet, rich buttery flavour, so not only are they heavenly, but sustainable as well. Our frozen spot prawn tails can be prepared in so many different ways from grilling on your barbecue, steaming, baking, broiling, shell on or shell off. It's all up to you!

I picked up 8 tubs of the 2023 tails and have eaten two in a week. I like that BC Wild Spot Prawns mixes the sizes in their frozen tail tubs so the price reflects an assortment of large, XL and Jumbo prawns in each tub. They are flash frozen and have kept very well. Bravo!

I’m was quite disappointed by the texture of the prawns. I’ve had frozen shrimp that had more bounce. I tried 4 pounds. I think if you are used to live spot prawns, then don’t bother to get the frozen because it doesn’t even come close.
