Each fish varies in weight, so you will need to pay the difference at pickup. Whole halibut typically weighs between 10-15 lbs, so please order accordingly. It was a thrill to open the Styrofoam box and find a huge headless and gutless halibut inside. It was so fresh I could smell the ocean. I'd shared the cost with three friends, and having never cut up such a beast I called them to come over and help. We sharpened our longest knives, drank some wine, watched a YouTube video on how to fillet a halibut and did an excellent job! We vacuum packed the pieces, grilled some as we worked, and had an excellent night. We would do it again when whole halibut is next available.

We got a fresh wild whole halibut. The fish was dressed (no scales, head or guts). Smelled fresh and was nice and large around 15 lbs. I took it home filleted it and had some that night and froze most of it for parties. It was fork tender and fresh as it had just come out of the ocean. Will buy again when they are in!!
